New South Wales Accommodation - inclusions

New South Wales Holiday Accommodation - What's Included?

When holiday apartments and resorts are described as being "fully self contained" it means that guests need only bring their foodstuffs, clothing and personal effects. Everything else necessary for the vacation is included with the accommodation.

The following inclusions are typical of accommodation in holiday resorts and apartments throughout NSW although some variations may occur between different resorts.

  • Electric stove (range), oven, and microwave

  • All kitchen cookware, cutlery, crockery and glassware

  • Tea and coffee making facilities

  • Bedroom, bathroom and kitchen linen

  • Laundry washer and dryer

  • Clothes iron and ironing board

  • Clothes hangers

  • Brooms, dust pan and cleaning utensils

  • Colour TV and remote control

  • Cable or satellite TV service (not in all areas)

  • Radio

Some apartments provide air-conditioning throughout the apartment, other provide it in just the common areas and others, usually in the cheaper price range, have no air conditioning at all. If air conditioning is a necessity for your comfort always read the published features carefully and if still uncertain, ask questions at the time of making your enquiry.

Most apartments will provide a hairdryer. If not included in the apartment, they are usually available from the reception desk. DVD units are usually included, and if not, will almost certainly be available for hire from the front desk.  The majority of apartments include cable TV, or a satellite service in areas where that is the only transmission available.

It is becoming commonplace for holiday apartments to provide internet connections so that guests can stay in touch with their email and internet businesses. Some provide connectivity in the guest apartment and others provide an internet kiosk facility. This trend is rapidly expanding throughout the state.

Servicing of apartments is usually done on a 7 or 10 day cycle with more frequent servicing usually available by arrangement with management for an extra cost.

Airport Transfers

Very few accommodation properties operate their own airport shuttle services. Always check with the accommodation provider at time of booking for their recommendations on the options available an likely costs.  The distances between the nearest airport and the accommodation can be considerable. In these cases it is usual for the accommodation provider to have arrangements in place for transporting guests to and from the property. Prospective guests should always ask for details on the available transfer arrangements.

Tickets For Shows, Tours & Attractions

The reception desk of your accommodation will almost certainly provide a booking service for cruises, tours, entertainment and local attractions. There is no extra cost to the guest as the booking service is complimentary.

Motor Car Hire

Motor car rentals are also available from the reception desk and all the major rental companies are represented throughout the state. Most resorts will be able to also arrange vehicles from local rental companies offering cheaper rates for new and used vehicles. These local companies can often provide specialty vehicles such as open top convertibles, sports coupes,  4WD off-road and mini van people movers.
