"Britz will not be beaten on quality, service or price"
CAMPERVANS & 4 WD RENTAL CARS
How do
I get the best possible price for my rental?

Britz use a unique Flex Rates system that rewards bookings made well
in advance. To take advantage of these rates, it is important that your
planning is done well in advance of the travel dates and that your Britz
booking is made as early as possible. If your dates are flexible you may
also be able to take advantage of the cheaper rates that apply at
certain off peak seasons.
What's
included in my Britz campervan?

When you get your Britz you'll find a gas stove, fridge and
microwave and even a toilet and shower in most models. We supply kitchen
equipment including crockery, cutlery, mixing bowls, frypan, saucepans,
a kettle and even a toaster. All you need to bring are your pyjamas,
favourite doona and pillow and your sense of adventure.
If you'd
prefer not to bring your sleeping gear, that's cool, we also offer a
Personal Kit for hire (towel, tea towel, pilllow, pillow case, sleeping
bag, bed sheet), as well as an extensive range of additional
hire items including outdoor tables &
chairs, an awning, baby & booster seat. We suggest that you pack your
belongings into soft bags instead of suitcases as they take up less room
and can easily fit into the storage compartments.
Do I
need a special licence to drive my Britz?

Absolutely not! All you need to drive your Britz is a full resident
country driver's licence held for at least one year. If you licence is
not in an English format, we also need to see a valid International
Drivers Licence.
How old
do I need to be to drive my Britz?

Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. If you are over the age of
75 years, a medical certificate is required.
Is
there a minimum rental duration?

Yes, it's 5 days for Britz campervans
(based on a calendar day) and 3 days for 4WD
Rental Cars (based on a 24 hour period). For one-way rentals, the
minimum hire is 7 days.
Can I
pick up the Britz in one city and drop it off in another?

One-way rentals are available between all of our
branches, including Hobart and the
mainland (subject to availability). We have branches in Adelaide, Alice
Springs, Brisbane, Broome (surcharge applies), Cairns, Darwin, Hobart,
Melbourne, Perth & Sydney. There is a minimum number of 7 days for a
one-way rental and a fee of AU$220 applies.
Can I
pick up or drop off my Britz at the airport?

Our Hobart branch is located at the airport, however, all of the
other branches are located within a close proximity to the airport.
What
time can I pick up and drop off my Britz?

Our Campervans can be picked up or dropped off between 8.00am and
4.30pm daily (we are closed on Christmas Day). We suggest you allow
about half an hour for the check-in/check-out process.

Do I
have to pay for more than one driver?

Not for the 4WD Rental Car. However, campervan rentals are subject
to an Extra Driver Fee of $3 per day for each additional driver.
What
Accident Protection Coverage options do you offer?

Your daily rental rates include standard protection, where you leave
a $5000 bond, which is held as your excess. We offer two options to
reduce that excess:
Excess
Reduction Option 1 - For AU$20 per day (2WD) & $25 per day (4WD) the
excess is reduced to $2500, which is held as your security deposit. If
paying by credit card, an imprint will be taken and authorisation
gained.

Excess Reduction Option 2 - For AU$38 per day (2WD) & $47 per day
(4WD) the excess is reduced to $220 (2WD) & $440 (4WD) which is held as
your security deposit. If paying by credit card, an imprint will be
taken.

Premium Cover Option - In addition to the Excess Reduction Option 2,
this one-off payment of AU$40 reduces the excess to nil. The security
deposit (as detailed above) applies.
Can a
baby seat be fitted to any of your campervans?

Yes, baby and booster seats can be fitted to the Britz Voyager,
Explorer, Frontier and Adventurer 4WD. Britz offers these for hire if
you need one.
Can I
pull up and camp on the side of the road in our Britz?

You can 'free camp' outside of towns and in country areas. Most
National Parks have areas set aside for camping. Australia has an
extensive network of caravan parks in all major tourist centres and in
most towns. We recommend
BIG4 Holiday
Parks, where Britz customers receive a 10% discount off site fees.
They offer excellent recreational facilities, as well as resources to
dispose of your waste water. They also have provision for you to plug
the vehicle into electricity.
How
long does the battery system last?

Britz vehicles have two batteries - one to run the engine and the
other to operate the living equipment such as the fridge and lights.
this battery will remain charged for approximately 12 to 14 hours. If
you flatten it you can start the engine to recharge.
Do you
have any vehicles with automatic transmission?

The Britz Voyager and Britz Frontier have automatic transmission.
