orange bulletCentral Queensland Holidays

Central Queensland is a region that stretches from the cattle country north of Rockhampton to the sugar fields south of Bundaberg. It offers access to the central and southern Barrier Reef islands of Great Keppel, Heron, Lady Musgrave and Lady Elliot.

The inland terrain is mostly low ranges and sparsely timbered grasslands, well suited to a flourishing cattle industry. The other major business activity in the region is coal mining.

Holiday activities in this area involve cruising and sailing, sport fishing, diving and snorkeling, loggerhead turtle rookery at Mon Repos (early Nov to late Feb) and golf courses. It is also the home of the famous Bundaberg (Bundy) rum which is produced in Bundaberg.
