a few that aren't. There are no telephones or televisions in
the rooms, there are no nightclubs or day trippers and
children under 15 are not catered for.
This 11
kilometres (7 miles) long enchanted isle lies in the warm,
clear waters of the Coral Sea, 24 kilometres (15 miles) off
the Queensland coast between Townsville and Cairns. Access to
the resort is a 30 minute flight in the Orpheus seaplane which
operates three times a day from Townsville.
The
Accommodation |
The resort comprises just 27
select units in a mixture of both beachfront and
hillside accommodation. The 21 beachfront units are
just a few steps from the beach. All accommodation
features a combined bedroom/lounge with an ensuite
bathroom, full air conditioning and ceiling fans.

Orpheus Retreats:
These 17 beachfront units are set in blocks
of three and all enjoy beachfront views. Each unit has
a personal patio and includes a queen or king size bed
(twin beds on request), mini bar and fridge, tea and
coffee making facilities and an internal music system.

The
Nautilus Suites:
These 4 spacious suites have beachfront
locations. They feature separate lounge and bedroom
areas, large private patios, large personal spa baths,
a queen or king size bed (twin beds on request), mini
bar and fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and
an internal music system. 2 suites offer enclosed
garden courtyards. |

powered dinghies, coral viewing trips aboard a glass

activities include
scuba diving, game fishing, outer reef trips and
seaplane charters. Dive activities are available
ranging from 30 minute elementary classes to island
reef dives.
Orpheus Island has both Dive Instructors and Dive
Masters available for all enquiries about Diving,
Marine Life and the local Reef environment. |

Prices are shown
in Australian dollars on a per person per night basis. Rates
include GST, but exclude any government fees or charges,
including the Great Barrier Reef Tourist Visitor charge.
Prices do not
include seaplane transfers from Townsville which are $190 per
person one way and $380 per person return.
