Victoria Murray RiverThis is the north-west region of Vidtoria and dominated by the Murray River. Primarily an agricultural area with only a handful of towns and a small population overall. Historical sites attest to the days when the Murray River hosted a significant river transport industry. The region leaves behind the lush green mountains and valleys of southern Victoria and transitions into the drier red semi-arid countryside typical of much of inland Australia. The Mallee region of the west supports a major wheat industry. Mostly river based activities. Houseboats, paddlewheel steamers, fishing, water-skiing, river bank camping. Several Golf and Country Clubs offering good golf courses.
